Meet Vienna
At Merton Charity Events, we are privileged to meet many incredible people through our work in the community. Today, we would like to introduce you to one very special little girl – Vienna.
Vienna is just 7 years old and is currently undergoing treatment for AML Leukemia at The Royal Marsden Hospital. Since beginning her treatment, she has shown remarkable courage, determination and resilience beyond her years, inspiring everyone around her with her strength.
Acute Myeloid Leukaemia (AML) is a rare type of blood cancer that affects children and adults. While treatment can be intensive, advances in medicine mean that more children than ever are being successfully treated and supported through their journey
Many members of our community know Vienna through her family's connection with Morden Little League, and when we heard her story, we knew we wanted to do something special to support her and her family during this incredibly challenging time.
Whilst Vienna's family are undertaking a fundraising trek in support of The Royal Marsden Charity, Merton Charity Events has launched a separate community appeal focused entirely on helping Vienna and her family directly. Our aim is simple: to bring our community together and show them that they are not facing this journey alone.
Every donation, message of support and share of this appeal reminds Vienna and her family that they are surrounded by people who care deeply about them.
As a community, we often come together to celebrate. Now, we have an opportunity to come together to support.
Did You Know?
💙 AML is a rare form of leukaemia affecting around 100 children each year in the UK.
💙 Children receiving treatment often spend significant time in hospital and away from their normal routines.
💙 Community support can make a huge difference to families during treatment, helping them focus on what matters most – their child's recovery and wellbeing.
