Car Show Information & Safety Guidance

Morden Family Fun Day Coops Classic Car Show

Our Commitment to Safety

At Merton Charity Events, the safety of our visitors, exhibitors, volunteers, and the wider community is our absolute priority.

This year s event is being delivered under enhanced safety requirements, in close coordination with Merton Council and the Safety Advisory Group (SAG).

These measures are not optional they are a condition of the event being permitted to take place and reflect evolving national expectations, including preparations aligned to upcoming legislation such as Martyn s Law.

We understand that some of these requirements may feel different compared to other events; however, all organisers must meet the standards set by their local authority.

🚫 Vehicle Movement During the Event

For the safety of the public:

  • No vehicle movement is permitted once the event is open
  • All vehicles must be in position before 09:30am
  • Vehicles must remain static until the event safely closes
  • These rules are strictly enforced in line with safety planning and licensing requirements.
  • This ensures we can safely manage large crowds and prevent risk to attendees.

➡️ Early Departure (Important Update)

We appreciate that, in some circumstances, exhibitors may need to leave before the event officially closes.

While general movement restrictions remain in place:

  • A controlled service road will be available behind the car show area
  • Early departures will only be permitted:
    • Under the direction of trained marshals
    • When it is safe to do so
  • Vehicles must not move independently at any time

This approach allows us to support flexibility without compromising public safety.

Online registration remains the safest and most reliable option for everyone involved, and we strongly recommend using it wherever possible.

👮 Safety Compliance & Enforcement

To meet our obligations:

  • Merton Council Enforcement Officers will be present
  • All instructions from marshals, stewards, and safety teams must be followed
  • Failure to comply with safety requirements may result in:

        Removal from the event

        Refusal of entry

        Exclusion from future events

These measures ensure we can continue to safely deliver community events for everyone to enjoy.

🙏 Thank You for Your Understanding

We fully recognise that these requirements may feel different to other shows or previous years.

However, they are essential to:

  • Protect the public
  • Meet local authority and licensing conditions
  • Secure the future of this much-loved community event

We truly appreciate your cooperation and support in helping us deliver a safe, successful, and enjoyable day for all.
